Hey there! I’m Julia.
I’m a licensed psychotherapist and clinical supervisor specializing in trauma therapy for children and adults.
Our work together begins with helping you feel deeply supported, heard, and validated, while challenging some unhelpful patterns causing you to feel stuck. Together, we will find ways to help you stay grounded, boost your self-esteem, and enhance your relationships.
In psychotherapy, you can expect to learn some things about yourself that you may have kept hidden away for a long time. I’m here to help you move out of survival mode to unlock that part of yourself - and be set free.
My approach to trauma therapy
My approach to trauma therapy begins with developing body awareness and mindfulness techniques to reduce trauma symptoms that impact your everyday life.
Do you feel numb and struggle finding joy even in the little things that used to make you happy? With trauma therapy, we’ll help you identify and address the patterns causing you pain. You’ll also sleep better and feel less startled and jumpy when you’re alone. You’ll be able to breathe again.
Psychotherapy will help you feel more aware of what you are experiencing in your body, not just your reactions to your surroundings. Some practitioners call this somatic therapy or depth therapy. The word “somatic” derives from the Ancient Greek word, soma, which means body. We carry our past trauma in our bodies, and when we work together, you’ll start to feel better in your own body. You’ll sharpen your ability to tap into your own intuitive body as an essential source of knowledge.
Trauma Therapy in Las Vegas | FAQs
-
Trauma therapy begins by creating a safe and supportive environment where you can share your experiences and feelings related to trauma without judgment.
Together, we’ll explore the traumatic events and how they've impacted your life. We’ll help you understand patterns and connections that might be influencing your current struggles. You'll gain insights into why you react to certain situations or people in the way you do. This understanding can help you manage symptoms of PTSD, such as flashbacks, anxiety, or avoidance.
During our trauma therapy sessions, you'll work on healing from the traumatic events and building resilience. This might include learning new coping strategies, improving your relationships, and finding ways to move forward positively, such as identifying areas where you may be experiencing post-traumatic growth.

Unlike some other therapies that focus on solving a specific problem quickly, trauma therapy takes a deeper look at your whole self. It's not just about fixing a problem. It's about understanding who you are and how you've become that way.

One of the things that makes trauma therapy different is how long it may take. There is no prescribed number of sessions, and no cut-offs after a certain number of sessions due to insurance limitations. Some patients might see significant changes in a few months, while others may continue therapy for a year or more.
In addition to considering your unique needs and goals for therapy, the length of treatment and frequency of sessions depends on a number of factors. Some of these include the severity of the symptoms from the traumatic events, the complexity of one’s trauma history, the age at which the traumatic events occurred, and the degree of support you have from the relationships in your life.

Trauma therapy can be helpful for many people, especially those who want to understand themselves better and make lasting changes in their lives. It can be used to address various issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship problems, and personality disorders.
However, trauma therapy isn’t right for everyone. When you book a 15-minute consult with me to decide if we’re a good fit, we can discuss whether trauma therapy is right for you, and if it’s not, we can discuss other trauma treatment options that might be a better fit for you.
